Up Do

I rarely ever wear my hair up, but today seemed as good a day as any to go for it. I love twisting it up in the back then skewering it with chop sticks. It makes sort of a wonderful old fashioned look that rocks with curly hair! Gotta leave little curls down to complete the magic, curly hair is made for that.
On a note, it's not the best for cold weather, but you sure get to show off earrings that might be covered up otherwise!

Little Things

I'm one of those people who often thinks,"I remember this time last week I was..." Well, all last week I was thinking about how the week before I was home. Now I have been at college for just over a week and I don't get to think that anymore.
Here are a few photos of some little things I see, love, and miss around Ketchikan.

I saw this creepy little fairy figurine everyday when I walked to work over the summer. Yes, I realize that she is from that new Tinker Bell TV thing, but COME ON, PEOPLE. There is something genuinely weird about this battered figurine along the highway.

I don't know how to explain this one. Santa has a black eye and smokes pen caps? Who knew? Still, I really enjoy seeing his sad, Christmas crack addict face on a regular basis.

I miss my family, no duh. I miss having family dinners at my grandma's house, especially when we have Baked Alaska for dessert...even more so when I get to fight for it with my brothers. =]

Wildlife, that's easy. I love this picture because it makes me think of the song, "Colours of the Wind," from Pocahontas. Can you see it?

Family photos. I love this picture of Leif and I. He was the chubbiest, cutest baby!

Then there is my sweet puppy, Piggy. He has taken up smoking, but I still love him. No one is perfect, right? If he has taught me anything, it's that you can be the derpiest organism in the planet, and there will still be people to love you. Here is to you, Flufferbutt!

Sunny yay!

Brunch is a great way to start a day, even greater when it is shared with friends! Keefer, Hugo, and I had a lovely meal at Shari's, then headed over to the mall for a shopping spree!!! Yay!
Malls are kind if a big deal for me cause in Ketchikan, our mall is comprised of a Safeway, a craft store, and an H&R Block. Not a joke.
Anyway, found some killer Doctor Who things. Take a gander!

David Tennant glasses and 10's Sonic!

OH GOD! Yes, My Little Pony went there! Those socks make my feet so happy!

Today is his 20th birthday! Coincidentally, it's also Kiss a Ginger Day! YAY ME! Zayn, it's fate, come visit me!
Anyway, that's pretty much it for today.
Enjoy the gingers! There is still an hour left!

24601

Whoa, what a Friday this was. I woke up at a ludicrously late hour due to staying up so late seeing Les Mis with some friends. May I just say, that movie was nothing short of breathtaking. It was unbelievable, tearing out the watcher's heart to the most beautiful of music. The actors and actresses in it the a stellar job. Their portrayal of such raw emotions just broke my heart. Fun Fact: I learned today that every song, sans the first one, was actually sung live. This is the first movie to ever do that.

I don't want to do any play-by-play movie reviews, no one want's to read them any more then I want to write them. It's suffice to say that no part in that movie will leave a heart untouched. Of course it's all over the internet, but it must be said that Anne Hathaway did a FANTASTIC job playing the forlorn Fantine. I'm pretty positive that for every second she was on screen, I was crying. Even though she was only in the first 30 minutes of the movie, I'm sure everyone who has seen the movie will agree with me when I say that her story is what people will remember most.

There was also a boy that I'm sure no one will forget. He is this little blond boy about seven or eight who is undoubtedly the most courageous of any in the movie. The first thought to my mind when he appeared on screen was, "God, he looks just like my little brother." Not to give away anything, but those of you who have seen the whole movie can imagine how distressing that thought was in context with the end of the movie.

I'm afraid I might give away something so I'm going to call it quits here and just say that I saw it again tonight with a friend. Yes, that means I went twice in 24 hours. I'm game for going again. My only wish is that I could have seen it with my mom, we really wanted to see it together. Alas, Ketchikan has yet to get this masterpiece into the local theater so we must wait for the DVD.

Anyway, I have homeowor due at midnight so gotta go!

Les Mis

As those of you in Ketchikan are well aware, Les Mis never made it that far north. My mother and I were really hoping to see it together, but looks like ill be seeing it with Totoro and Keefer instead! We arrived early so we could party it up in the arcade. Arcades are so much fun! Photo booths are my favourite part. Keefer likes air hockey a lot. He beat me 3:7, but I let him win. Totoro just wanted to sleep in the basketball machine. Silly guy.
